2010-In certificate verification few takers for MCA, MBA courses, only
60,286 students attend to ICET 2010 certificate verification process in
first phase. Officials worry about more than 7,000 seats will go vacant
in the convener quota after first phase seat allotment. Officials of
ICET 2010 says only 60,286 students attended the certificate
verification process out of the 1.52 lakh qualified candidates.
This year in MCA, MBA courses 1.11 lakh seats are available in 892 MBA colleges and 660 MCA colleges in the State of which 67,000 are in convenor quota. More than 7,000 seats will go vacant in the convener quota itself and the numbers indicate that there will be no takers for management seats which will be around 50,000 in both MCA and MBA colleges. MCA will be worst hit as it is a three-year course and also due to the fact that engineering students are preferred for software jobs.
