APPSC set up 445 exam centers across the state to recruit 198 Group-I posts. 128 centers set up in Hyderabad alone where 61,000 candidates have registered for the exam. 118 centers have been set up in the Telangana districts where 34,000 students would appear for the exam. The remaining 199 centers are in the Andhra regions. Group-I examination will be held from 10.30 am to 1 pm. APPSC officials forwarded question papers for Group-I exam scheduled on September 5 to all districts. 2 lakh aspirants set to write the exam are still uncertain about exam conduct.
Police imposed Section 144 and Section 30 of the Indian Police Act on the vicinity of exam centers on Sunday. Bandh called by the Osmania University Students JAC on September 5 to disrupt the exam, the SeemaAndhra Students JAC also called for universities bandh on September 4, demanding the conduct of Group-I exam as scheduled. OUJAC had demanded 42% quota in Group-I jobs for candidates from Telangana region. Andhra Pradesh DGP, said 3 levels of security will be in place at each examination centers.
