Swarnalatha (37), the South Indian singer has reportedly passed away this due to lung related problem. According to a report by published by AsiaNet India, the sad incident happened in a private hospital in Chennai on Sunday.
Swarnalatha has sung many songs in varieties of languages, including Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam. She has also worked with many great and reknowned music composers, notably Ilaiyaraaja and Oscar winner AR Rahman. Swarnalatha has been singing since 1983 and is considered one of the best female playback singers in the South Indian Film Industry. She was also awarded the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer in 1995.
